A government driven by sycophancy, debauchery, deceit, propaganda and hypocrisy will at best be mediocre, old-school, atavistic and bereft of the global fad, reality and challenge.
BAT’s government and minders bought over the Airwaves on Tuesday to celebrate the Commissioning of the Multi-Billion Naira 16-floor Nigeria Revenue Service NRS Building in an age of e-learning, e-governance, e-commerce and Technology, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his minders see the future in a physical edifice, what a shame? They truly are behind time, they obviously do not know what time it is, and they mouth a future they know no jack of.
In an age where people work from their homes and effectively so, where across the world companies recruit staff who must work from their homes, the future for the Nigerian government is in a central work place where billions that should pay protesting Police Retirees their emoluments, Pensioners their due and provide logistical support for Servicemen and women fighting insurgency have been wasted. Who sees the future in profligacy and wastefulness BUT Bola Ahmed Tinubu and minders? What a shame?
The President, his armchair …Senate President and the APC leadership emptied into the new NRS Building spewing “tommyrot” in praise of the monumental structure, ignorant and oblivious of present global reality. The greatest shame of the day after the President was citizen Obot Godswill Akpabio the …President of the Rubber-stamp Senate who became the Defender-in-Chief of a Government he should otherwise keep on its toes, by the way he was also the Spokesperson defending the questionable integrity of the INEC Chairman Joash Amupitan, is Godswill Akpabio not a huge joke? He oblivious doesn’t know anything about protecting the status of the Legislature in a democracy.
What about citizen Zacch Adedeji (the NRS Chairman) an otherwise brilliant Accountant who does not know that a huge official edifice is old-school, who does not know that the funds wasted on that project can create more than 5000 jobs, who does not know that the efficiency and effectiveness of staff doesn’t depend on the beauty of the edifice BUT on training and better emoluments, and who does not know that a highly progressive world has moved beyond their mentality. The world is fast leaving us behind. Sad.
What about citizen Taiwo Oyedele the brand new Minister of State for Finance, whose position at the Commissioning belies his fantastic CV, and put a shame to the policies of PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers) where he worked most of his life. Did he also forget that the building of gangatuan public offices with funds that are in short supply is poor economics and bad policy? Does he not know that such funds should be ploughed into more serious matters of State, that healthcare, education, security and job creation should matter more than physical structures? BUT do they know anything BUT sycophancy.
An Old-school government, with analogue thinkers, and atavistic folks claiming to be futuristic with a Renewed Hope that is out of sync with prevalent global reality is nothing but FAILURE. That is why the BAT administration is lacklustre, underwhelming, underperforming, and uneventful.
Who will tell this administration that progressive governments, businesses and nations are more inclined to human capital development than spending on monumental office buildings? Who will tell their minders that it is poor economics to waste scarce resources on gangatuan public buildings? And who will provoke them to progressive thought? I hope this effort does.
Enough of the joke of yesterday and the jokers who see a brand new NRS BUILDING as a dividend, but wait a minute, am I crazy? Isn’t it some huge personal dividend to the Contractors and those who awarded the Contract? It was big business for them and huge money for the boys… Nigeria’s loss their gain.
I still haven’t forgotten the promise I made about addressing the rogue tendencies of the present regime ditto NIGERIA FOR SALE under BAT, with Citizen Godswill Akpabio as the Auctioneer, and Tinubu and his Partners, The Chagourys as the BUYERS, don’t worry I promise Part IV shall dwell on that.
I cannot however ignore the show of shame of the Tinubu Presidency, his enforcer-in-chief Nyesom Wike and the soulless desperation for power. Indeed, after narrowing the political space with almost 32 Governors, contrived, captured or blackmailed into joining them, with more than Two-Third Majority of the National Assembly, with the State apparati under their control, they still will not allow the ADC a State venue in Abuja for her National Convention…. Their mortal fear of the opposition is understandably predicated on the colossal failure of the BAT Presidency, and the fact that their lies, propaganda and debauchery is failing.
The days ahead are interesting. It is getting curiouser and curiouser.
However, there is yet hope for BAT, BUT he must first stop eating up yourself through inordinate ambition. He MUST let Nigeria and Nigerians breathe. He MUST improve on National Security. He MUST let the Judiciary be… He may continue to be god to citizen Akpabio, Akpabio loves and worships him, BUT he MUST let the Legislature be.

And he MUST let the opposition be, he MUST stop endangering and destroying our democracy… And if he has a modicum of Statesmanship left in him, he should think about the next generation, and stop the wanton looting of our collective patrimony through the award of Contracts without Transparent and Open Public Bidding.
He MUST stop the reckless borrowings that has done Nigeria no significant good under his watch. Who will help BAT? Who will tell BAT that we know that he and his cronies are involved in the most heinous looting of our public till so they can buy/RIG the next election… BUT let him know that Nigerians will resist their shenanigans, so he MUST stop eating up yourself.
TO BE CONTINUED!!!
