Timing is key, in every endeavour. In a very venture. In every activity or enterprise. Even when one, perhaps, does the right thing at the wrong time, ultimately, it becomes counterproductive. It becomes anachronistic. It becomes devastating. But do you know that, Bekee wu agbara?. It becomes mere tomfoolery. Oyupaa. This has been the logic right from the old Testament.
The reason, the man of Wisdom, Solomon, wrote in Ecclesiastes 3: 1,3, 8; “To everything, there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace”.
I won’t stammer or stagger here. I am rather, mounting the rostrum. The APC Governors Forum was wrong. Nyesom Wike was also wrong. And the concensus is that, two “wrongs” can’t make “a right”. They were both unfair to the Alhaji, they had all claimed to be “herding or shepherdering” the cows for. Call them herdsmen. Or, shepherds. And they are all herdsmen or shepherds for the cows (ambition) of one Alhaji, Bola Tinubu. Otu or ofu Alhaji ka ha nile na achuru nnama. And they could not put him and his interest into due consideration, in their war of self-preservation. In their war of supremacy. In their ego pursuit.
The Presidential election is in January, 2027. This is the month of September, 2026. And it is almost gone. We are therefore talking about October (31days), November (30days), and December (31days). The month of December is also somehow, because of the Christmas festival. Approximately, the nation has barely 92 days to the 2027 Presidential and National Assembly elections, in which, President Tinubu is a candidate, on the platform of the All Progressive Congress, APC.
You now ask yourself, looking at the timing, was it proper for APC governors, working assidiously for the Victory of President Tinubu, to begin to act or talk in a manner they had done, against Wike, who is also working tirelessly for BAT to come back as President in January 2027?. I do not think so. They were wrong in their approach. They were also wrong in their timing.
Was Wike, who had said that, he would be the worst or the major loser, if the President does not return for second term right, to have also thrown caution to the wind in his response to the APC governors?. I do not equally think so. He would have exercised caution or restraint, for the sake of BAT. The reason l had averred that, two rough tackles can’t give birth to one fine or good game. Two “wrongs, can’t make a right”
Both the APC Governors and the FCT Minister, only succeeded in playing into the dirty hands of sychophants and political jobbers. They provided a new job or employment opportunity for the sychophants and less-busy or idle media aides. And the bickering or squabble has been trending and would continue to trend, to the detriment of the fate of the man they all claimed, they’re working for.
Also know that, Wike and his rainbow coalition didn’t just spring up. Didn’t emerge overnight. It’s not a new development. It came on board during the 2023 presidential primary of the PDP. He was able to take five governors of the Party into his custody for his coaltion. That was a feat on his side. With that, he kept the PDP and its presidential candidate then, on edge and worked for Bola Tinubu to win. And the man he worked for, won. Hate him or like him, the story of Tinubu’s 2023 victory, can not be told without Wike and his coalition being mentioned. From all indications, the president recognised and appreciated that effort or contribution.
After the 2023 elections, Wike didn’t disband the coalition. He has been talking about it. And he announced that the coalition would also work for the president for his re-relection. And he meant it. Not mincing words about that.
Then, at what point did the APC governors become uncomfortable or very uncomfortable with the man and his coalition for BAT?. Why waiting for some days to the 2027 presidential election, to take exception to the Rivers man and his pet project, the coalition?. The APC governors, with their action, had just lowered the antenna or reduced the momentum, the Tinubu For re-election Campaigns had garnered or gathered.
Even if the APC Governors had, for any reason, become uneasy or unsettled with Wike and his coalition, they only needed to meet, take a decision to that effect, and each of them would go to his State, meet with the Party officers and inform them about their decision. And the Party officials would communicate the members at all levels, through the available channels on their position, with regard to the 2027 elections. It didn’t require the Governors holding world-press conference, to openly disown or disclaim Wike and his baby, the Coalition. And knowing what he and the coalition firmly stand for. The governors were not considerate. All in all, “through wisdom, is an house builded; and by understanding, it is established” ( Proverbs 24: 3″. I am soliloquizing here.
Wike also allowed anger to take a toll on him. To overwhelm him. He responded in a way and manner, he should not have done , at least, for the sake of the man he has chosen to work for, in the January election. He should have simply wished the APC governors well and continue his journey, since by strength, no one prevails. By attacking the APC governors in the languages he did, he also erred like them. And the implication is that, they have created division in the campaign train or project of the president. And it is not funny. The bad blood or suspicion sown or the wound inflicted can’t be healed between now and january. The areas they would have collaborated, have already been jettisoned. Already been torpidoed. Already been submerged. Already been stiffled. Do l continue?. Already been strangulated.
This APC Governors and Wike’s controversy was not necessary. It was needless. It was avoidable. You do not build to scatter. Who bewitched the APC Governors? Who betwitched Wike?. That, they could not know that, this is not the time to cast stones at each other, but a time to gather stones together for result. That, this is the time to embrace, and not the time to refrain from embracing. That, this is the time to love themselves and not the time to hate. Time for peace, and not the time for war. At least, for the sake, or for the overall interest of the man, they all desire or want to bring back in January 2027 as the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Publicly disowning Wike and his Coalition, knowing what they have been standing for, since 2023, by those who should have even protected him, was very uncharitable. And also uncharitable to the President and his ambition for second term. I do not see the president applauding the governors for what they did.
Whatever is the case or whatever will be the case, We Shall Continue To Clap For JESUS.
