The Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Hulayat Omidiran, has congratulated the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), CG Bashir Adewale Adeniyi on the extension of his tenure by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing the decision as a recognition of his exceptional leadership, dedication and contributions to national development.
Omidiran, in a congratulatory message on Monday, said the extension reflects the confidence reposed in CG Adeniyi’s ability to continue driving reforms, strengthening institutional efficiency and advancing the mandate of the Nigeria Customs Service.
She said “The extension of your tenure is a testament to your outstanding leadership, dedication and the remarkable progress recorded under your stewardship of the Nigeria Customs Service. Your commitment to reforms, accountability and service delivery has continued to inspire confidence among Nigerians and stakeholders”.
The FCC Chairman appreciated the Customs boss for his, professionalism, commitment to transparency, improved revenue generation, trade facilitation and efforts toward enhancing border security, noting that these achievements have positively impacted Nigeria’s economic growth and national interests.
The former lawmaker further recounted the important role of the Nigeria Customs Service in supporting government policies, facilitating legitimate trade and contributing to economic stability through efficient operations and innovation.
She concluded “As you commence this renewed phase of your service, I wish you greater wisdom, strength, good health and divine guidance. May your extended tenure bring further achievements and lasting contributions to the growth and prosperity of Nigeria” .
