The Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) has invited 44 outstanding players to the national camp ahead of the 2026 African Junior Volleyball Championships scheduled to hold in Egypt.
The invited athletes comprise 22 players for the U-19 Girls team and 22 players for the U-18 Boys team, selected from clubs competing in the Nigeria Premier Volleyball League, National Division One League, and National Division Two League.
The national camping programme will officially commence on Friday, 10 July 2026, at the High Performance Centre, where both teams will begin intensive preparations for the continental championship.
The Federation expressed confidence in the quality and readiness of the invited players, noting that the athletes are in excellent competitive condition following the successful conclusion of the first phase of the 2026 National Volleyball League. The technical crew is optimistic that both teams will secure qualification tickets to the FIVB World Championships.
Nigeria’s U-18 Boys team enters the championship with an outstanding pedigree, having won the African title three consecutive times and represented the continent at the FIVB U-19 Boys World Championship on two occasions. The Federation believes the current squad has the quality, determination and competitive experience to sustain this impressive legacy, while the U-19 Girls team is equally poised to make a strong impact on the continental stage.
