Makinde Calls For Political Unity, Promises Transparent Food, Oil Pricing

Oyo State Governor and presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement, Seyi Makinde, has promised Nigerians transparent pricing of food and petroleum products if elected president in 2027.

Makinde made the promise on Monday in Abuja during the official commissioning of the Makinde/Daura 2027 Presidential Campaign Headquarters of the APM.

He also called for political unity, urging parties and political leaders to put aside their differences and work together to address the challenges facing Nigerians.

Makinde said his administration would focus on practical solutions to economic hardship and other challenges confronting the country.

The event also attracted the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, Peter Obi, whose presence added a major political dimension to the gathering.

Obi described Makinde as qualified to be president and called on opposition parties to unite in the interest of Nigerians.

He said whoever emerges from a free, fair and credible election should be supported by all to work towards building a better Nigeria.

The APM National Chairman, Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, described the commissioning as the beginning of the party’s journey to “reset Nigeria.”

The commissioning brings the APM’s 2027 campaign structure into operation as the party begins its mobilisation ahead of the presidential election.
