Labour Party Adopts National Youth Leader, Ahanotu as Presidential Candidate

***Fields governorship, NASS candidates across states.

The Labour Party has adopted it’s National Youth Leader, Prince Kennedy Ahanotu as the party’s presidential candidate for the 2027 presidential election.

Prince Kennedy pulled a total vote of 2,944,420 via a consensus primary election. The party also released governorship candidates in 30 states.

The party also released the list of successful candidates for the Senate, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly.

Declaring the results, in a press conference held in Abuja, the Deputy National Chairman, Dr. Ayodele Olorunfemi said the candidates emerged in accordance with the electoral act and party constitution.

He admonished the candidates to distinguish themselves from the current leaders who have chosen their pockets ahead of the general welfare of Nigerians.

According to him, “A Labour Party leadership must encourage a free and compulsory education at all level and ensure social justice for the people.”

In his acceptance speech, Prince Ahanotu who was moved with emotion decried the level of insecurity and economic crisis bedeviling the nation. He said under his leadership, the Labour Party will bring a practical solution for the ailing economy.

Prince Ahanotu also said his leadership will work to reunite all the factions in the party. He specifically called on the Abia State governor, Dr. Alex Otti to team up with the Legacy party membership to return the party to its formidable position in the past.

. SOKOTO STATE – HON ABDULRRAHIM CHINDO IMAM – 55,228 VOTES

. ZAMFARA STATE – HON YAHUZA AHMED – 22,555 VOTES

. ABIA STATE – CEEKAY IGARA – 58,185

. DELTA STATE – DR BARRY AVOTU JOHNSON 1ST – 74,987 VOTES

. CROSS RIVER – EMMANUEL FRIDAY – 17,235 VOTES

. RIVERS STATE – PRINCE NUKA NWIGBO –  14,784 VOTES

. BAUCHI STATE – MOHAMMED SABITU  ALIYU – 44,800 VOTES

. KWARA STATE – HON AJIBADE SAMSON ADEKUNLE – 13,441 VOTES

. KADUNA STATE – HON AUWAL ALIYU TAFOKI – 42,432 VOTES

The full list is being collated and will be transmitted to INEC in line with the guidelines.
