Gov. Peter Mbah Rewards Enugu Rangers for NPFL Triumph

Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has announced a series of rewards for players and officials of Enugu Rangers following their remarkable victory in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

In recognition of the club’s outstanding achievement, Governor Mbah approved a cash reward of ₦100 million for the players and ₦50 million for the management team. The governor also pledged to allocate Certificates of Occupancy (C of O) for plots of land to all players and management staff as part of the state’s appreciation for bringing glory to Enugu State.

The governor further disclosed that the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, is currently undergoing aggressive renovation and upgrading to meet the standards required by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

He expressed confidence that upon completion of the renovation works, Rangers will be able to play their CAF Champions League home matches in Enugu instead of using alternative venues such as Uyo.

Governor Mbah commended the players, coaches, management, and supporters for their commitment throughout the season, describing the league title victory as a source of pride for the people of Enugu State. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to sports development and promised continued support to ensure Rangers remain competitive both domestically and on the continental stage.

The rewards and stadium upgrade are expected to further motivate the Flying Antelopes as they prepare to represent Nigeria in next season’s CAF Champions League.
