Former Super Eagles stars Tijani Babangida and Chikelue Iloenyosi, alongside players’ union leader Harrison Jalla, are set to represent professional footballers across Nigeria in the ongoing reform process of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
The development follows a stakeholders’ meeting with FIFA and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as discussions intensify over reforms aimed at strengthening the administration and governance of Nigerian football.
Babangida, Iloenyosi and Jalla will serve as the voice of the players’ union, ensuring that the interests and concerns of current and former professional footballers are adequately represented in the reform process.
Their involvement is expected to provide the players’ constituency with a stronger platform in discussions surrounding the restructuring of the NFF and the future direction of football administration in Nigeria.
The stakeholders’ engagement with FIFA and CAF is part of broader efforts to develop a transparent, inclusive and sustainable framework for Nigerian football, with key football constituencies expected to play a role in shaping the proposed reforms.
