Commonwealth Games 100m semi finalist, Miracle Ezechukwu headline the 15 athletes list released for the forthcoming World U20 Championships, holding in Oregon, USA.
The Commonwealth silver medalist, Jessica Oji is also on the train to the USA who alongside Ezechukwu are the brightest prospects for medals at the five day championships.
Many Nigerian junior athletes had used the world junior in the past to launch their athletics career including the likes of Deji Aliu, Francis Obikwelu who later dumped Nigeria for Portugal
This year’s edition will be an opportunity for Ezechukwu, Oji and Rosemary Chukwuma to showcase their talents once again at the world level at appearances at the continental and Commonwealth regions.
Team Nigeria will be aiming for an impressive outing towards building on the country’s reputation on the global athletics stage.
The World Junior will hold at the Hayward Field at the University of Oregun with the opening events being men’s shot put and mixed 4x100m relay on August 5.
