Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembélé has been voted the 2025–26 Ligue 1 Player of the Season, securing the award for the second consecutive year.

Dembele was honored at the UNFP Trophies gala after an outstanding campaign where he led PSG to another league title, scoring 21 goals and six assists in 28 appearances
- He succeeded Kylian Mbappé as the winner, continuing PSG’s dominance in this award.
Dembele’s 2025-26 performance marks a significant increase in goal contributions from his previous season, according to
Though he had a stellar campaign but the shocking and surprising aspect of it is that he only started only 9 league games the whole season, and played 90mins ONCE all season in the league, in April, even though the French Ligue started in August.
Dembele played the first 3 games that month, and got injured and missed 2 months of football, 5 league games in total.
He retuned and played 3 games. In all 3 games, he didn’t accumulate 90mins of football, then he missed the next two games.
He came back again and played two games, and did not accumulate 60mins in those two games, and got injured again.
In January, he started two league games and one sub, and also started two games in February and out injured again, but returned in March and came on as a sub twice, and those were the only league games he played before international break.
Dembele played his first 90mins football in the league in the month of April, this was against Toulouse.
Then the coach Luis Enrique started resting him, either for strategic reasons or because of champions league, which probably accounts for why he did play the last two games against Angers & Lorient before the Bayern games.
- Sounds surprising and shocking but that is what it is.
- Désiré Doué (Rennes) was named Young Player of the Year, and Luis Enrique (PSG) won Coach of the Year.
