Aliyu Tells Opposition “We’ll Use Our Projects To Campaign for Re-election, Do Same”

Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state will rely on the people-oriented projects executed by his administration to seek re-election in the forthcoming general elections.

The Governor stated this at the Government House, Sokoto, shortly after observing the Jumu’at prayer on Friday.

He said the APC had numerous achievements to showcase to the electorate and every reason to seek another mandate to sustain and expand the laudable projects executed across the length and breadth of the state.

“We will ensure decorum in our campaign language and refrain from insulting anyone,” he said.

Governor Aliyu explained that his administration would continue to listen to the yearnings and aspirations of the people and remain responsive to their needs in the overall interest of the state’s development.

He urged APC supporters to remain law-abiding and conduct their political activities with due respect for human dignity and in strict compliance with the law.

The Governor also challenged opposition parties to tell the electorate what they achieved for the people while in power rather than resorting to campaigns of calumny.

He cautioned political actors against using the guise of freedom of expression to infringe on the fundamental human rights of others in the course of political campaigns.

According to him, his administration remains committed to protecting the rights and dignity of every citizen of the state.

“We owe it a duty to protect our dear state from anyone who seeks to destroy it,” he added.

Governor Aliyu thanked the people of Sokoto State for their continued support and prayers for his administration, urging them to sustain the gesture.
