Ajayi Dominates World Champion,Seville To Win London Diamond League

Nigeria’s sprint sensation Kayinsola Ajayi delivered the biggest win of his career on Saturday, storming to victory in the men’s 100 metres at the London Diamond League with a blistering time of 9.84 seconds to equal his Nigerian national record.

Ajayi produced a superb performance against a world-class field, holding off reigning world champion Oblique Seville of Jamaica, who finished second in 9.87 seconds.

Great Britain’s Romell Glave claimed third place with a personal best of 9.97 seconds.

The 9.84-second effort matches the fastest time ever recorded by a Nigerian, underlining Ajayi’s growing status as one of the country’s brightest sprint prospects ahead of major international competitions.

His triumph over the reigning world champion is another significant milestone in what has been an impressive season for the Nigerian speedster, who continues to establish himself among the world’s elite sprinters.

Ajayi’s victory also provides a major confidence boost for Team Nigeria as preparations intensify for upcoming Commonwealth Games, with the 100m star demonstrating that he has the speed and composure to challenge the very best on the international stage.
