Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, the State APC leader, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, and the Speaker of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Tukur Bala Bodinga, were among Muslim faithful who attended the funeral prayer of the late Alhaji Mansur, Sarkin Fadan Jarman Sokoto, a son-in-law to an APC stalwart in the State, Alhaji Ummarun Kwabo.
The late Alhaji Mansur died on Thursday afternoon at a hospital in Abuja at the age of 54, following a brief illness. He is survived by two wives and 12 children.
The funeral prayer, led by Malam Bello Birnin Kebbi, took place at the Abu Huraira Jumu’at Mosque, Polo Club, Sokoto.
Those in attendance included Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto; the State APC leader, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko; the Speaker of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Tukur Bala Bodinga; the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Kabir Ibrahim Kware; members of the State Legislature; Commissioners; Special Advisers; Senior Special Assistants; and other top government functionaries.
Governor Aliyu expressed shock over the death of the late Mansur, Sarkin Fadan Jarman Sokoto, describing him as a pious and devoted Muslim.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings, accept his good deeds and grant him Jannatul Firdaus.The Governor also prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the deceased’s family the strength and fortitude to bear the loss.
