President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku, has announced that Ghana will host the 2027 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
VDCInsights reports that Okraku revealed this via his verified official Facebook handle on Sunday, April 26.

This will be the second time Ghana will be hosting the U20 Championship, with the first time being in 1999 when it was known as African Youth Championships, which they won .
Ghana last staged the competition in 1999, then known as the African Youth Championship ,which was their second time of winning after their debut victory in 1993.
After the 1999 success, the Black Satellites have added two more wins in 2009 and 2021 being their last successful outing. It was also in 2009 that the Ghanaians U20 defeated Brazil on penalties to win the World U20 Championships in Egypt and the first African nation to achieve the feat.
With this announcement now, the country will have the next one year to prepare for the successful hosting of the championships and probably target adding a fifth title.
Nigeria remains the most successful team at this level with seven titles won in 1983,1985,1987,1989,2005,2011 and 2015. Ghana and Egypt have four titles apiece with the Ghanaians winning in 1993, 1999, 2009 and 2021 with Egypt winning in 1981, 1991, 2003 and 2013.
