The Federal Government has approved a comprehensive review of allowances and welfare benefits aimed at boosting the earnings and overall wellbeing of civil servants.

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Walson-Jack, disclosed this on Friday during a press briefing in Abuja.
According to her, the reform targets employees under the consolidated public service and research salary structures, with a key provision introducing a 100 percent Duty Tour Allowance for training-related assignments.
VDCInsights reports that the Government has introduced a new exit benefit scheme, which will grant retiring civil servants an equivalent of one year’s total emoluments, in addition to their statutory pension entitlements.
Walson-Jack said the measures are designed to strengthen financial security for public sector workers, improve morale, and enhance productivity across the civil service
