Arsenal In Danger Of Losing EPL Title, As Manchester City Go For Broke Against Burnley

Arsenal will today,Wednesday know what the 2025/2026 season holds for the team when Manchester City take on Burnley in a match that could potentially decide who wins the EPL title between both clubs.

Mikel Arteta’s side and their fans know that victory for City could bring so much pain and frustration to the Gunners as City will leapfrog them at the top of the table, which would be a serious threat at their winning the EPL title this season.

The Gunners have been at the top of the table for over 200 days while City only spent six days at the EPL summit after their opening day 4-0 defeat of Wolves, who are now relegation bound.

“City have the psychological edge over Arsenal, having won against them in the league on Sunday and beaten them at Wembley last month to lift the Carabao Cup.”

Today, the blue side of  Manchester will confront Burnley, a side that have won just four games all season and will be relegated to the Championship with a defeat today.

In the meantime, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says his players can “celebrate however you want” in response to criticism from some pundits for his side’s reaction to beating Arsenal on Sunday.

They celebrated exuberantly at full-time, with former England captain Wayne Rooney telling Match of the Day it was “a little bit premature”, while ex-Premier League midfielder Danny Murphy called it “excessive”.

City’s 2-1 victory allowed them to close the gap on Premier League leaders Arsenal to just three points ahead of their clash with Burnley today with victory taking them to the top of the EPL.

Guardiola said “I see that game and we had to sweat and fight to beat them because they have everything,” adding “They are a top team, a contender to win the Champions League and top of the Premier League.

He concluded “When I’m on the sidelines and seeing how Arsenal is playing, I give incredible credit.”
