Zenith Bank Women’s Basketball Final Holds On Saturday In Lagos

The 2025 Premier Zenith  Bank Women’s Basketball League final will hold on Saturday, Sept 20 at the indoor sports hall of the National Stadium Lagos

The competition which started on Sept 15 with 8 teams on parade will climax on Saturday.

The 8 teams that participated in the dunk and slam game are Bayelsa Whales , Nigeria Customs, MFM ,Air Warriors,Dolphins, Titans, Royal Aces and First Bank.

The teams were drawn into two groups of four with First Bank, Air warriors, Abuja, Royal Aces, Abuja and Bayelsa Whales in group A.

GroupB had Titans Basketball Abuja, MFM Lagos, Dolphins Basketball Lagos and Nigeria Customs Basketball, Abuja.

While the group games started on Sept 16 through 18, the semi final will hold today, Friday Sept 19, and the third place and final holding on Saturday, Sept 20.

In the meantime, the President of the NBBF, Musa Kida has commended Zenith bank for the unflinching support towards the development of basketball in the country through the annual support/sponsorship of the National Women Basketball league in the last 17 years.

Kida stated that Zenith Bank has remained a dedicated and committed partner of the NBBF and proud sponsors of the NBBF’s Elite division of the women’s basketball league without break for over 17 years now.

He revealed that this has helped the NBBF discover great talents from all over the country that have gone ahead to represent Nigeria on the continental and global stage,.

The NBBF President noted that this support has helped ensured the country’s total dominance on the contiennt for the last 8 years without tasting defeat in the continent and also showcasing their influence at the global stage.

He also highlighted the support of Zenith Bank for the female national team,D’Tigress when the bank hosted and received them after the victory at the 2025 Afrobasket and rewarded the team with N200m .

Kida pointed out that the first and second phases of the 2025 Women’s Premier League had been successfully held and the final eight which is ongoing will be finalized on Saturday with the Chairman and Director General of the National Sports Commission, Shehu Dikko and Bukola olopade respectively, and other dignitaries expected to grace the final.
