WAFU B U20 Semis: Golden Eaglets Face Black Starlets On Tuesday

Nigeria’s perennial rivalry with Ghana will be on show again on Tuesday, September 30 at Stade Charles Konan Banny at 8 pm Nigeria time, at the ongoing WAFU B Under-17 Championships in Ivory Coast.

Nigeria topped Group B with four points, while Ghana finished second in Group A behind host, Ivory Coast.

Tuesday’s semi final game as usual is expected to generate the usual trappings, tension and rivalry between both  nations.

Nigeria defeated Baby Cheetahs of Benin Republic 4-1 before playing a goalless draw with Burkina Faso to top the group,while Burkina Faso though finished with four points but have lesser goal difference.

Before the game between Nigeria and Burkina Faso both had already qualified for the semis as the group had only three teams but needed to determine the group winner.

Both teams already qualified for the semi- final, but what is at stake in today’s game is to determine the team that will tackle either Cote d’ Ivoire or Ghana.

Group A games ended yesterday with Cote d’ Ivoire topping the group with 9pts, winning her three games, scoring 6 goals without conceding any.

The Black Starlets came second in the group with 4pts after beating Niger 3- 1 on Friday.

Nigeria Vs Burkina – Faso, which ended goalless at the Stade Lycee Scientifique on Saturday evening.

It is another another Nigeria vs Ghana rivalry in the second semi final game at the Stade Charles Konan Banny on Tuesday at 8 pm Nigeria time.
