The Tinubu Impact Movement (TIM) formally sealed a historic partnership with the City Boy Movement (CBM), marking a decisive step towards consolidating nationwide grassroots mobilization ahead of the next electoral cycle.
The partnership reflects a deliberate convergence of structures to send a clear message that the youth are not on the sidelines; they are leading from the front.
Under the collaboration, TIM has committed to mobilise 2.5 million votes in support of President Bola Tinubu out of the 10 million votes targeted nationwide by the City Boy Movement and its partners.
This commitment is anchored in verified data, structured organisation, and a rapidly expanding TIM grassroots network across the country, rather than wishful thinking.
In a statement signed by it’s National Chairman, Dr Obinna Ebirim said TIM is officially registered with the All Progressives Congress, with formal acknowledgment received in August 2025.
Ebirim said Since its establishment, the movement has built documented structures in over 30 states, extending from states to local government areas, wards and polling booths, and in some instances maintaining physical offices.
The national chairman stated that from inception, TIM has distinguished itself as a disciplined, data-driven and grassroots-focused support organisation with a clear mandate: to document, amplify and disseminate the measurable achievements of President Tinubu while building informed, evidence-based support for the continuity of progressive governance beyond 2027.
He said the event which held at the Ministry of Youth development was both symbolic and strategic, as the Ministry represents the energy, productivity and aspirations of young Nigerians, and TIM itself is largely youth-driven in composition.
According to him “Internal membership data shows sustained growth with daily registration spikes in recent weeks, and projections indicate that if current momentum is maintained, the membership base could double within the next two to three weeks.”
The demographic and professional profile of the movement underscores its mobilisation strength.
“Approximately 62% of members are male while 38% are female, with ongoing efforts to expand female participation.”
He added “About 55% of members fall within the 18 to 35 youth bracket, and over 72% are within the economically productive 25 to 45 age range, positioning TIM as a movement capable of influencing households and communities nationwide.”
Dr Ebirim further pointed out “Professionally, 47.1% of the membership base is drawn from business and entrepreneurship, complemented by representation from education (13.5%), government and civil service (6%), politics and civil society (5.8%), technology and ICT (3.4%), health (3%) and other strategic sectors.”
He added “Notably, 99.07% of registered members have indicated their intention to vote for President Tinubu in 2027 with 0.67% still unsure, reflecting a consolidated and committed support base.”
The national chairman said in a defining moment during the event, the Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande, who serves as Co-Patron of the City Boy Movement alongside its Director General, Mr. Francis Tosin Shoga, were formally conferred with the role of “TIM Leaders.”
He said “The conferment recognises their leadership, commitment to youth empowerment and their strategic roles in shaping youth participation in next electoral cycle.”
“It also signals deeper coordination between both movements as they pursue grassroots mobilization within the framework of the Electoral Act and Renewed Hope Agenda,” he added.
In his response, the Minister commended TIM’s growth trajectory and structured approach, accepted the responsibility conferred upon him, and encouraged deliberate plans to increase female membership.
He revealed ongoing engagements with state governors to ensure that women serve as Deputy Youth Leaders of political parties across all states.
The minister reaffirmed his strong ties to the City Boy Movement, described it as an inclusive platform open to all Nigerians, and paid tribute to its Patron, Barr. Seyi Tinubu.
The Director General of the City Boy Movement, Francis Tosin Shoga, also accepted the honour and urged support groups to formally register with CBM, encouraging coordination, discipline and realistic planning in line with electoral benchmarks from the last cycle.
Dr Ebirim also stated the team visited the APC National Party Secretariat where they met with the National Deputy Chairman (North), Dr. Ali Bukar Dalori.
He said TIM engaged him on its structure, expansion strategy, and mobilisation roadmap, and formally conferred on him the role of “TIM Leader” in recognition of his leadership and commitment to progressive politics.
While accepting the honour, he commended the movement and pledged to provide guidance, facilitate connections to the party leadership, and connect TIM to opportunities for support groups.
He further assured of his readiness to support the movement in any way necessary to ensure its growth and meaningful contribution to its objectives.
