Spirit Of Ramadan: Commissioner for Innovation and Digital Economy Distributes ₦30m, 500 Bags of Rice to Party Executives, Supporters

The Sokoto State Commissioner for Innovation and Digital Economy,  Bashar Ummarun Kwabo has distributed the sum of Thirty Million Naira (₦30,000,000.00) alongside Five Hundred (500) bags of rice to politicians, particularly the All Progressives Congress (APC) executives across the 24 Wards of both Sokoto North and Sokoto South Local Government Areas

The largesse was also extended to , as well as numerous well-wishers and supporters of the party.

The humanitarian intervention, carried out in the spirit of compassion and solidarity during the holy month of Ramadan, underscores the Commissioner’s unwavering commitment to grassroots support and community development.

In an interview with the Sokoto State Media Corporation, Kwabo stated:
“I was influenced by several calls made by the leader of our great party, Distinguished Senator Dr. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko (Sarkin Yamman Sakkwato), as well as his protégé, the Executive Governor of Sokoto State, Dr. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, urging the privileged to show compassion to the less privileged, especially in this holy month of Ramadan.”

Kwabo further emphasized that his gesture aligns with his personal and family heritage of service.

According to him “This may not come as surprising, considering my social background, having come from a highly distinguished and well-respected family in our society — the family of Ummarun Kwabo A.A, MFR (Jarman Sokoto), who devoted his entire life to the service of humanity and religion across not only Sokoto State, but the nation as a whole.

 He also held various political leadership positions, particularly in the North-Western region of this country since the First Republic, during the era of late President Shehu Shagari(Turakin Sokoto).”

The distribution ceremony was attended by several high-profile dignitaries, with the Governor of the state Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, FCNA, being represented by Ibrahim Gandi, mni, Senior Special Assistant to the Sokoto State Government on Administration and Legal Matters.

In his remarks, Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto expressed deep satisfaction with the initiative and commended Hon. Bashar Ummarun Kwabo for demonstrating exemplary leadership and compassion.

 He further enjoined other political office holders and well-to-do individuals to emulate the Commissioner’s benevolence in supporting the people, particularly during periods of spiritual reflection and communal solidarity.

This gesture once again highlights Bashar Ummarun Kwabo’s dedication to party unity, grassroots empowerment, and humanitarian service, reinforcing the enduring values of compassion, leadership, and community responsibility in Sokoto State.
