Simon,Iwobi,Ndidi Lead Seven Other Super Eagles To Hit Rabat For WC Play off

The advance team of the Super Eagles has landed in Rabat, Morocco ahead of the Nov 13 2026 world cup play off against Gabon.

Our correspondent learnt that Monday evening has been fixed for the first training session by Coach Eric Chelle .

In the meantime, ten players have landed in the Super Eagles’ training camp in Rabat, Morocco, to underscore their seriousness for Thursday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup Playoff semi-final against Gabon.

Th e birds are defender Calvin Bassey, midfielders Alex Iwobi and Wilfred Ndidi, and forwards Moses Simon, Tolu Arokodare, Olakunle Olusegun, and Samuel Chukwueze.

Team captain William Troost-Ekong, defenders Benjamin Fredericks and Chidozie Awaziem were the latest arrivals at the team’s hotel on Sunday night, joining the seven early arrivals.

The remaining 15 invited players are expected to arrive on Monday, as the three-time African champions gear up for what promises to be a thrilling encounter against the Panthers of Gabon at the Complexe Sportif Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan. The match is scheduled to kick off at 5:00 p.m. Morocco time (same as Nigeria).

Meanwhile, the other semi-final will see Cameroon take on the Democratic Republic of Congo, with the winners of both ties advancing to the final on Sunday evening at the same venue.

The eventual champion will secure Africa’s sole ticket to the Intercontinental Playoffs slated for Mexico next year.

Defender Oluwasemilogo Ajayi, suspended for one game after accumulating two yellow cards in the 10-match qualifying campaign, will miss the clash with the Panthers on Thursday.
 
Nigeria will take on Gabon in the first semi-final scheduled for the 22,000 – capacity Complexe Sportif Prince Heritier Moulay Al Hassan in Rabat, with Cameroon confronting the Democratic Republic of Congo in the other semi-final at the 18,000 – capacity El-Barid Stadium, also in Rabat.

Last Friday, Chelle unveiled his 24-man list for the all important clash with no new face except for the recall of goalkeeper,Maduka Okoye and Chidera Ejuke.

Th other 22 players are the players Chelle has relied on since his coming in January in prosecuting the qualifiers,
