Two second half goals were enough to see the Super Eagles fly over the Desert Foxes of Algeria into the semi final of the 2025 AFCON in Morocco,
Victor Osimhen continued his fine scoring form and opened scoring in the 48th minute, while strike partner, Adams Akor took the game beyond the Algerians with the second goal in the 57th miniute.

After a tight and nervy first half, the Eagles resumed the second half like men on fire looking — hungry, purposeful and determined to carry the day.
Their efforts paid off in the 48th minute with Osimhen rising above the Algerian defence to head home the curtain raiser that sent the Nigerian supporters into wild jubiliation and celebration .
The goal lifted the team, lifted the fans, and lifted a nation watching from living rooms, viewing centres, and street corners across Nigeria.
And ninr minutes later, the match was over with a sweet champagne move by the Eagles that tore through Algeria’s backline, with Akor Adams picking the ball to calmly and confidently slot home.
From that moment on, Nigeria took total control of the game, with the fans cheering every tackle like a goal.

The dream semi final now beckons between the Nigeriaa nd host, Morocco, who looking at ending 49 year wait for the FCON trophy, while Nigeria is aiming to end 13 year wait for the trophy.
