President Bola Tinubu has been lauded for the appointment of Stella Din-Jacob as the Executive Director,News of the largest television network in Africa,Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).


The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Federal Capital Territory Chapter, Grace Ike said Stella-Din is a thorough breed professional and a perfect fit for the job.
Ike noted that the ace broadcaster has a diverse background as a professional, whether in the legal profession or the media, and having worked in many reputable organisations will, undoubtedly, bring her wealth of experience to bear on the station.
She particularly commended President Tinubu for the historic appointment of the Executive Director News, NTA as the first female to hold that office.
A statement from Secretary Of Council, Comrade Jide Oyekunle ‘described the first female Executive Director News as a broadcaster with a remarkable career, who has groomed and mentored many professionals within the media industry.’
’Notably, the statement emphasized that Comrade Grace Ike, the current chairman of the NUJ FCT Council, worked under Stella Din-Jacob’s tutelage as a reporter at the renowned Silverbird Group, a testament to her influential mentorship and leadership’.
The statement recognized that he appointment is well-deserved, reflecting her decades of dedication, excellence, and trans-formative leadership in journalism.
The council praised her outstanding service at major media houses such as Silverbird Group, Channels Television, TVC News, and others, where she excelled in managing large newsrooms and shaping credible, balanced, and impactful news coverage.
The NUF expressed strong confidence that her leadership would bring further growth and innovation to national broadcasting, foster unity, peace, and national development, and continue to inspire women and young journalists across Nigeria.
The council concluded by expressing immense pride that a media professional of Stella Din Jacob’s caliber—who has nurtured talents like their own chairman—is now leading the News Directorate at the NTA.
