The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has fulfilled its agreement with the Super Falcons to pay them 30 percent of the prize money of winning the last WAFCON in Morocco last July.
The prize money was One million dollars and 30% of the amount is about ₦1.5 billion.
Prompt News exclusively gathered that the federation has since disbursed the sum of $300,000 (₦450 million), being the 30 per cent of the prize money directly to the players as agreed before the competition in Morocco.
Each squad member, coaching crew and backroom staff have all received full camp allowances and match-winning bonuses from the NFF, outside the huge financial largesse raked in from several NFF corporate sponsors that hosted the team on their return from Morocco in July.
An elated President Bola Tinubu, showered the Super Falcons with the sum of $100,000 each, national honours, of Officer of the Federal Republic , Oand a 3-bedroom flat for each player and officials.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) had announced before the start of 2024 WAFCON in Morocco, a 100 per cent increase in the prize money for the champions of the tournament, which Nigeria won by defeating Morocco 3-2 in a thrilling final on Saturday, July 26.
