The Teranga Lions of Senegal devoured the Pharoahs of Egypt to qualify for the final of the 35th Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The win came off a solitary strike from Senegal’s talisman, Sadio Mane in the 78th minute.
In a cagey and tensed semifinal game, both teams struggled to create chances, which were few in the opening stage of the game, with the first half ending goalless.
In the 78minute, Mane produced a moment of magic to fire a superb long-range effort that curled into the bottom corner of the net.
The loss ended Mohammed Salah’s long wait for an AFCON title andmay retire without any cup of Nations title to his name.
The winner between Nigeria and Morocco will face Senegal on Sunday at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium.
