The travails of Super Eagles forward, Ademola Lookman is not yet over in Italy, despite his return to the club after failing to force an exit during the summer transfer window.
Lookman, who submitted a transfer request and left the club unceremoniously finally returned towards the end of the transfer, but has been banished from first team training .
The former Leicester and Fulham player was present in the two Super Eagles World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa .
Despite this, Atalanta have continued to pile the pressure on want-away star, with Coach Ivan Juric saying he will not beg the Super Eagles forward to play and now Atalanta CEO has said Lookman has to be 100% committed to the Italian club.
Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi told DAZN “We know how important Lookman is to Atalanta, but the club has some very basic principles,”
“It’s about players having to be ready to give 100 percent for this shirt and be completely focused on our task, because all matches are difficult.”
Ademola Lookman was not listed by Atalanta for Serie A match against Lecce despite playing the Super Eagles 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa this past week.
The player, whose contract with Atalanta is until June 2027, made it clear during the summer transfer window that he wishes to quit the Italian club and this led to a long-drawn transfer saga.
