The Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Hulayat Omidiran, has extended warm felicitations to Nigerian Muslim faithful on the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan, calling for renewed commitment to unity, equity, and national cohesion.
In her Eid-ul-Fitr message marking the end of the Ramadan fast, Omidiran prayed that the sacrifices, prayers, and acts of charity observed during the sacred period be accepted and richly rewarded by Almighty Allah, while urging Nigerians to uphold the spiritual essence of the season.
The FCC boss recounts that Ramadan embodies enduring values such as discipline, sacrifice, compassion, and devotion, stressing that these virtues align with the core mandate of the Federal Character Commission in promoting fairness, justice, and inclusiveness across the country.
She said “Ramadan reminds us of our shared humanity and the importance of justice and balance in our dealings. As a nation, we must uphold fairness and inclusivity to ensure that every Nigerian, regardless of background, feels a true sense of belonging”.
The FCC Chairman further urged Nigerians to sustain these values beyond Ramadan by embracing peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, and equitable practices in both public and private spheres, while also calling on leaders at all levels to demonstrate integrity, accountability, and fairness in governance.
She continued “The task of nation-building requires collective responsibility. We must continue to strengthen the bonds that unite us and uphold the principles that guarantee equal opportunity for all,”.
“As we celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr, may it bring renewed hope, joy, and strength to continue building a more united, just, and equitable Nigeria.”
