The transfer saga of African Footballer of the Year, Ademola Lookman from his Italian Club, Atalanta may have taken a new twist with the continental football governing body, CAF set to wade in to save his blossoming career.
Lookman has been in a running battle with his club,Atalanta over his impending move to another Italian club, Inter Milan,with his release clause put at 50m Euros.
Inter had twice presented an offer to Atalanta and twice had they rejected same forcing Lookman to put in for a transfer request and also skipping training and packing his things out of Atalanta.
Victor Osimhen faced similar challenge with Napoli but the resolve of Galatasaray ensured the deal finally sailed through without public spat between Osimhen and Napoli.
In the latest development, ex-African players from different nationalities have decided to append their signatures to a petition which they foorwarded to CAF President Patrice Motsepe to intervene and save Lookman’s career.
Motsêpe having gōne through the pêtition brought by Dïdier Drōgba which was signed by majorly former Ãfricãn Fōotballers from differênt countries , said CÃF has adōpted the pêtition to secüre the free and fair transfer of Adēmolå Løøkmån.
The CAF President said the continental governing body shall proceed to deliver the pêtition to Itãlian Fōotball bodìes on Tuesday to underscore the urgency of the matter.
He said ‘It’s our responsibility to ensure our players over the globe are well treated and protected. It’s a general task for every Ãfricãn, may I seize these opportunity to thank Dïdier Drōgba and others who brought this call for attention.
