Al Ahli confirmed their supremacy over Al Nassr on Saturday evening as they fought back twice to clinch the Saudi Super Cup.
The Asian champions twice fell behind in the game but clawed their way back on both occasions through Franck Kessie and Roger Ibanez to force penalties.
Whilst Al Nassr missed one of their kicks in the shootouts, Al Ahli converted all five of theirs to confirm their status as the best club in Asia.
It was a highly entertaining encounter that witnessed a lot of drama while producing jaw dropping moments.
Matthias Jaissle’s men showed resilience to come back twice before claiming victory on penalties.
Al Ahli are now the new Saudi Super Cup champions, winning their first title after so many years.

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo became the first player to score 100 goals for four different clubs and his country as he reached three figures for Al-Nassr on Saturday.
The Portugal superstar has dominated in Saudi Arabian football since making the move from Manchester United at the end of December 2022, finishing as top scorer of the Saudi Pro League in each of the previous two seasons.
And he made history in the Saudi Super Cup final as his goal against Al-Ahli Saudi took him to 100 for his career with the club.
Ronaldo had drawn a blank in the semi-final as Al-Nassr saw off Al-Ittihad 2-1, but he was presented with a golden opportunity from the penalty spot in the 41st minute.
He made no mistake, firing down the middle and beyond Édouard Mendy to put Al-Nassr in front,but Al Ahli was to later equalise and go ahead to win.
Ronaldo has also scored 100 goals for Manchester United (145), Real Madrid (450) and Juventus (101). In addition, he is Portugal’s record goalscorer with 138.
