Advocacy Group Drags FIFA To Nigerian Court Over Forward Development Project Funds, World Cup, & Other Grants

The Advocacy for Nigeria Football Reform Concepts has dragged FIFA to the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Abuja, in Suit No: M/4462/2062. 

The Chairman of the Advocacy for Nigeria Football Reform Concepts,Prince Harrison Jalla revealed this to VDCInsights.

VDCInsights reports that in the suit, the plaintiffs are seeking 12 reliefs concerning the FIFA Forward Development Project funds, past World Cup funds, and other grants to Nigeria.

Other defendants in the suit are:

(2) The Nigeria Football Federation,

(3) Monimichelle Sports Facilities Limited, and

(4) a fourth party to be joined in the suit, being the contractor of the Kebbi Stadium.

The subject matter of the suit is FIFA’s alleged complicity in the misappropriation and embezzlement of its grants to Nigeria since 2014.

Details of the suit will be unveiled at a world press conference to be convened soon by the Advocacy for Nigeria Football Reform Concepts, focusing on the state of Nigerian football.

The case has been assigned to Court 60 of the FCT High Court, Jabi. No date has been fixed for hearing.
