…Appoints Campaign State Directors

The Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation (MDPCO) has criticised the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, describing it as a “Nebuchadnezzar Coalition” that cannot shield President Bola Tinubu from public dissatisfaction ahead of the 2027 general election.
In a press statement issued on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, and signed by its Director of Strategic Communications, Richard Ihediwa, the organisation accused the APC of assembling politically discredited figures while Nigerians grapple with worsening economic hardship, insecurity and declining public confidence in government.
The MDPCO questioned how the Tinubu administration and its campaign council would address the country’s socio-economic challenges, citing figures on multidimensional poverty, deprivation in healthcare and education, unemployment and children’s literacy. It argued that the government’s performance, rather than the size or influence of its campaign council, would ultimately determine its electoral prospects.
The organisation further maintained that political alliances and incumbency could not replace public trust, insisting that elections were determined by voters’ experiences and their assessment of government performance. It accused the APC of prioritising political influence over accountability and addressing the concerns of ordinary Nigerians.
The MDPCO expressed confidence in the presidential candidacy of Seyi Makinde under the Allied People’s Movement (APM), presenting his proposed RESET Nigeria agenda as an alternative focused on accountability, productivity and national prosperity. It urged Nigerians to demand better governance and exercise their democratic rights at the ballot box in 2027.
