The Director-General of the Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation, Felix Hassan Hyat, has charged newly inaugurated North-Central state coordinators to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Hyat gave the charge during the inauguration of the organisation’s North-Central state coordinators, stressing that electoral success would depend on the campaign’s ability to reach voters at the polling unit, ward and local government levels.
He urged the coordinators to take the message of the organisation’s presidential candidate, Seyi Makinde, to households across the region and beyond.
He emphasised the need for unity among party leaders, candidates and campaign officials, warning that internal divisions could undermine their collective objective.
Hyat also stressed the importance of appointing capable polling unit agents, noting that elections were often determined at the grassroots level.
The campaign DG criticised the administration of President Bola Tinubu, alleging that the National Assembly had failed to adequately challenge the executive and that some elected representatives had prioritised the President’s interests over those of their constituents.
He called on the coordinators to communicate these concerns to voters and encourage them to make informed decisions at the polls.
The Director General expressed confidence in Makinde’s leadership capacity, describing him as a credible alternative for Nigeria, while urging campaign officials not to be discouraged by challenges or time constraints. He called for greater commitment, sacrifice and dialogue among members, expressing optimism about the campaign’s prospects in the January 16, 2027, election.
