The National men’s Amputee Football team, the Special Eagles, has resumed training in preparation for the forthcoming Amputee Football World Cup, scheduled to hold in Mexico in November 2026.
A total of 15 players are currently in camp at the Package B of the MKO Abiola National Staional, Abuja while six professional players are expected to join the team at a later date.
Training sessions are progressing well, and the players are said to be in high spirits and fully committed to the task ahead.
The President of the Nigeria Amputee Football Federation,Prince Opukiri Jones-Ere said “I am also pleased to report that the Technical Director and Head Coach are on ground, overseeing preparations and ensuring the team is on course for a successful campaign.”
He added “We remain focused and determined to give our best as we prepare to represent Nigeria with pride on the world stage.”
