FIFA has proposed September 19 as the date for the second-round fixture of the African–Asian–Pacific Cup, with South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns set to host the encounter in Pretoria.
The Brazilians will take on the winner of the first-round showdown between Saudi Arabia’s Al Ahli FC and New Zealand representatives Auckland FC, which is scheduled to be played on September 1.
As the highest-ranked side among the three participating clubs, Mamelodi Sundowns are expected to enjoy home advantage, with the match slated to take place in South Africa.
According to reports, FIFA has already communicated the proposed arrangements to both the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the South African Football Association (SAFA).
BSNSports reports that the match is expected to kick off at 15:00 local time, with official confirmation of the fixture details anticipated in the coming weeks.
