Silver medalist at the ongoing African Athletics Championships in Ghana, Oyesade Olatoye says it is always refreshing representing Nigeria as a sporting Ambassador.
Olatoye described what it feels like representing Nigeria at Championships with sunset, saying ‘No two sunsets are ever the same’.
Olatoye who spoke to the media in Accra emphasized that despite representing Team Nigeria for years, she feels very honoured every time she wears the country’s jersey.
The athlete popularly called “Reliable” lived up to her pet name and the expectation of her nation, clinching silver in the Women’s Hammer.
She threw a distance of 69.60m to secure the podium finish, re-enforcing her influence in the Event.
Olaoye said “The experience, is never enough, every championship comes with a new opportunity, coming out to represent the country is a feeling that can never get old, day by day, I just give my best, it was good we had a few girls throwing far, the competition was felt, which brings out the best in me,”.
Olatoye stated that she will begin preparation ahead of the Commonwealth Games, an event she promises to shine at.
