Olopade Leads NSC  Delegation To Honour Dikko @ Sportsville Award

The Director General of  the National Sports Commission (NSC), Bukola Olopade will be leading a strong team of senior officials of the Commission at the investiture of the NSC Chairman, Mallam Shehu Dikko, on Friday for the 6th edition of Sportsville Special Recognition Award.

VDCInsights reports that Mallam Dikko is one of the recipients of this year’s award and will be accompanied by top government functionaries from the NSC and other agencies.

In the delegation would be his Chief of Staff, Mallam Salihu Abubakar, Special Adviser Strategy, Legal and Administration, Musa Amadu, SSA Special Duties and Protocol, Ahmed Kawu, and a host of others.

Dikko, the visionary and soft spoken chairman of the NSC, will be bestowed with the Sportsville Transformative Impact Award, alongside other 18 awardees on Friday night.

The NSC Chairman says he cherishes the recognition by Sportsville Communication Services Ltd.

“When a credible platform like Sportsville bestows an award on you, you have to accept knowing that it’s genuine.I sincerely appreciate the organization for this honour and promise to keep working to change the narrative of sports in the country.

The one time Chairman of the League Management Company,LMC added “The good news is that our best is yet to come. With the numerous initiatives my colleagues and I have put forward, it won’t be long before the country begins to reap the fruits,” .

Among the initiatives Dikko was referring to are grants to support athletes to train out of competition, scholarships for those deserving and performance rewards  for victorious teams and individuals.

Dikko insists that athletes’ welfare is one that the Commission will continue to champion with all vigour.

“We have started this, all thanks to our sports loving President, Bola Tinubu, who believes in rewarding hard work and excellence.

He added “The era of athletes being left in the lurch after giving their all to the nation is over. We will continue to pursue this course with all vigour and leave a legacy for those coming after us.”

This year’s award ceremony comes up on Friday, April 3rd, 2026 at the Lagos Country Club, ikeja, under the Chairmanship of Dr Larry Izamoje, the Chairman of Brila Media Group.
