In what will be a mouth-watering encounter at the ongoing 2025 AfroBasket championships in Angola,Nigeria’s national men’s basketball team, D’Tigers will face Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions in the last game of Group B.
Both teams are undefeated heading into this clash of titans,as Nigeriaa nd Cameroon have won two games apiece, even though Nigeria leads the group on points difference.
Nigeria defeated Madagascar in the opening group game 77-59, and Tunisia in the second game 87-66, while Cameroon hut defending Champions Tunisia 86-65 to end their over ten years of unbeaten run at the championship, to set the stage for this important clash.
The winner will automatically qualify for the quater final, while the loser will go through the play off to have any hope of progressing to the quarters,
D’Tigers ahve shown so much promise and look good to reoplicate the exploits of the Class of 2015 when Nigeria won the Afrobasket.
The Cameroon’s run has been boosted by three NBA players in Yves Missi and Ulrich Chomche fom New Orleans Pelicans, and Christian Koloko from Los Angeels Lakers.
In addition to this star players they parade Jeremiah Hill,whose heroics saved Cameroon’s blushes against Madagascar and then William Narace, Yves Missi, Hills and Fabian Ateba who wrecked Tunisia.
What they have in these players, Nigeria also have in Caleb Agada, the star performer against Madagascar and Josh Okogie, whose 33 points against Tunisia was the deciding factor in the match.
Sunday holds so much hope for both teams as they battle for national pride and slot for the quarter final .
